Better Half is a creative studio offering brand strategy, design, and copywriting for founders, entrepreneurs, and marketing leaders. Our core services include positioning and messaging, visual identity and logo design, website copy, packaging, and marketing collateral. When a project calls for skills beyond our core offerings, we tap our off-menu bench of vetted partners for PR, web development, photography, and social media strategy.

Better Half is based in Midcoast Maine, and yes! We work with clients all over the country (and occasionally beyond). Most of our work happens remotely, with optional in-person kickoffs and working sessions for clients in New England. Wherever you are, expect big-city creative thinking with small-town charm.
-
We partner with founders, entrepreneurs, and in-house marketing leaders building brands that make profitable, meaningful, and sustainable business possible. Our sweet spots include CPG food and beverage, local and regionalbrands, mission-driven companies, and in-house marketing teams that need an embedded creative partner. If you care deeply about what you’re building and want a true partner (not a one-night-stand vendor), we’re probably a fit.

Every engagement starts with a strategic foundation so the design and copy that follow are grounded in where the brand stands today, and where it’s headed. Timelines and deliverables flex based on scope, but the chemistry conversation is always step one. Our branding process can have up to four phases: Discovery (research, interviews, audits), Strategy (positioning, audience, messaging architecture), Creative (identity, copy, design systems), and Launch (rollout, guidelines, and ongoing support).
-
Most Better Half engagements land between $1.5K for a focused, single-deliverable project and $10K+ for a full brand build. Smaller budgets are a fit for things like positioning sprints, copy projects, or logo tweaks; larger budgets cover end-to-end strategy, visual identity, and copywriting. You can share your budget range on our contact form and we’ll let you know honestly whether we’re the right fit.
-
Most projects take between 4-12 weeks from kickoff to launch. A focused copy or design project might wrap in 3-4 weeks, while a full brand build (strategy, identity, and copy) typically runs 8-12 weeks. We’ll map a workback timeline together before signing anything, so deadlines, revision rounds, and your launch goals are baked in from day one.
-
Heck yes. Better Half offers ongoing creative support through monthly retainers, seasonal campaigns, and on-call partnerships for pre-existing clients. Common post-launch work includes website updates, new product copy, packaging extensions, event collateral, email and social content, and refreshes to brand guidelines as your business grows. Most brands need a creative partner long after launch day, and since we’re equally as invested in their success, we aim to build relationships for the long haul.
-
Absolutely. We take on à la carte consulting projects all the time: taglines, naming, logo and wordmark design, packaging, product descriptions, and more. If you already have a strong brand foundation, we can plug in for the specific piece you need. If you’re not sure what you need, the contact form is the easiest way to start; we’ll help you figure out the right scope.

We use AI-supported tools to make our process more efficient and to bounce ideas around when we're in brainstorm mode. We consider AI a thinking tool, not a replacement for thinking.
The difference? Our fingerprints are all over every pixel and every noun. We're the original creators of everything we deliver, and we stand behind every creative asset that leaves our inbox and goes out under your brand's name. If you have concerns, questions, or get the AI heebie-jeebies, let’s talk about it. We’re an open book.

Totally fair question, and the answer is yes. We work great as a pair, but not every project needs both of us, and that's completely groovy. Mads spends most of her time working as a solo brand strategist and copywriter (you can see her cartwheeling in her own lane over here on LinkedIn). And sometimes you just need a designer (AKA Adam) to swoop in, make a tweak, or build you a turnkey postcard or flyer and save the day. While Mads drives most client communication and project management, we’ll bid the project tailored to your reach needs after our discovery call.
